Seva Sankalp is a Section 8 non-profit from Jaipur. We run learning centres, community kitchens, health camps and women's groups, and most of our team comes from the bastis and villages we serve.

Galta Gate, 2014One blackboard, three volunteers and 22 children under a neem tree.
Our story
It began with one evening class and a borrowed blackboard.
In the winter of 2014, Satish Mehta noticed children from Galta Gate basti sitting outside a closed school every evening. He borrowed a blackboard, found two friends who could teach, and started a class under the neem tree at the end of the lane.
Parents began asking for more: a meal for the children, help for an elderly father's eyes, a way for mothers to earn. Each request became a programme, and each programme was handed to people from the same community to run.
Twelve years later, that evening class has become six programmes across Jaipur's bastis and 38 villages. The neem tree is still there, and so is the class.
